Fernando
Ureña Rib will present his more recent collection of oil
paintings in Seoul, Korea. The exhibition is with the occasion
of the first Visita of the President of the Dominican Republic,
Dr Leonel Fernandez Reyna to Korea, next the 29 of June. The
artist, who will be present in the inauguration, indicated that
the collection consists of twenty oil paintings under the title
of “Organic Recent Paintings by Fernando Ureña Rib”.
The exhibition is presented with the endorsement of the
Dominican Embassy in Seoul. Antonio Isa, from the Dominican
Embassy in Seoul made the announcement of the exhibition,
indicating that the Bellarte gallery, where this cultural action
will be take place, is one of the most important galleries
specializing in Latin American art.. “The intention is to
represent the country through its art and of culture. And
without doubts, Fernando Ureña Rib is one of the Dominican
painters of greater international reputation and better known
through his exhibitions in museums and galleries worldwide.”
On the other hand, the painter showed his appreciation for being
invited to represent his country in such important cultural
event, and he indicated: “I believe that president Fernandez
understands clearly that the world and the global economy are
moving quickly toward the East and that this is the best way to
open the doors to new opportunities and a greater exchange with
the countries from Asia.”
It is the first time that Ureña Rib presents its original works
in the Distant East, although sometimes previous it had
presented/displayed successful its lienzografías (reproductions
signed and numbered on linen cloth) in Japan and Korea. The
exhibition will remain open until the 27 of Julio of the this
